Yellows make double signing on transfer deadline day

Warrington Town have added two new signings and secured a loan extension on the NPL’s transfer deadline day.

Clubs had until 5pm today (Thursday March 24) to make their last moves of the season.

Arriving at Cantilever Park is striker Michael Howard, who has scored 27 goals for Skelmersdale United this season.

The former Preston junior has played at this level before for Hednesford Town, Stalybridge Celtic and Marine, where he was part of their run to the FA Cup third round.

Making a return to the club is goalkeeper Josh Ollerenshaw, who has spent time with Ashton United this season.

Ollerenshaw, 31, previously made 23 appearances for the Yellows back in the 2013/14 season, keeping eight clean sheets on the run to the play-offs.

Meanwhile, winger Isaac Buckley-Ricketts has extended his loan deal from Southport until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old former England youth international made an instant impact on his debut against Morpeth, laying on a goal for Josh Amis.

He has since made two starting appearances for Mark Beesley’s side.

All three are in contention to play in Saturday’s next league game, away at Radcliffe.

Our next home game is on Saturday April 2 against Mickleover – you can buy tickets online here.
